In the wake of Mary Kennedy’s DWI arrest, rumors of trouble in her marriage to Bobby Kennedy Jr. are bubbling to the surface. “It's no big surprise that she's drinking. She has problems, and in the past couple of years—certainly the last year—it’s gotten worse,” one source tells the New York Post. The couple has been fighting for months, friends say, with Mary growing increasingly convinced that Bobby is having an affair.

“They can get very intense, very vocal,” says a source. Prior to Mary’s May 15 DWI charge, to which she pleaded not guilty yesterday, the couple had “many, many incidents,” some of them involving police. The Post points to one in particular, when cops were called to intervene as Bobby tried to make Mary see a psychologist in 2007 and she ran from the car; Bobby held her down and asked a passer-by to call police.
