Judge: Arizona Immigration Law Will Bankrupt State

He's worried about wrongful detainment lawsuits

(User Submitted) – The new immigration law that takes effect as early as late July in Arizona was cheered by controversial Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. He said it gives him authority to detain undocumented migrants who aren't accused of committing any other crimes. "Now if we show they're illegal, we can actually arrest them and put them in our jails." Critics say this will lead to racial profiling, worsen relations between Hispanics and police, and bankrupt the state, reports Raw Story.

Judge Andrew Napolitano told Fox News that Gov. Jan Brewer's signature on the bill will have disastrous results. Hispanics will leave the Republican party in droves, insurance companies will not cover the state against lawsuits, and wrongful detainment lawsuits will have to be paid for by Brewer's state budget and bankrupt Arizona.
