Initial sales may already have reached some 700,000 units, according to a Minneapolis analyst firm that had predicted sales of a mere 200,000. People waited at outlets across the nation in long lines to buy the iPad as sales began Saturday, and Apple appeared to be able to keep up with skyrocketing demand.
