Candy Crowley Taking Over CNN's State of the Union

Candy Crowley will be at the helm of CNN's revamped Sunday morning politics talk show State of the Union starting this week. The political correspondent will replace John King, who will host a new show in the 7pm time slot vacated by Lou Dobbs with his abrupt exit three months ago. SOTU will be switching to an hour-long format instead of the four hours it had run under King, Broadcasting and Cable reports.

Crowley, the first woman to host a Sunday political talk show since Cokie Roberts left ABC's This Week in 2002, says she's looking forward to the Sunday morning "sweet spot." SOTU will be a "weekly meeting place to bring the hopes, worries, and questions of everyday Americans I talk with along the campaign trail to the people I talk with in the corridors of power," she said.
