'Supernova' Obama Risks Flameout

President Obama has shone like a supernova, but supernovas, by definition, don’t shine brightly for very long. Obama is definitely a star, “the first real king of all media,” writes Daniel Henninger for the Wall Street Journal. “Nobody says ‘Barack Obama’ anymore. He’s jut ‘Obama.’ He is the champ of one-name celebrities.” Even with his approval ratings plummeting, “it remains impossible to view Obama as just another pol.”

Early in his career, he told Harry Reid, “Harry, I have a gift,” and he obviously does. But it’s a gift for telling people what they want to hear, and that can get you in trouble as president. “The greatest danger to grand men is feet of clay,” says Henninger.
