Hinting that Obama administration’s restrictions on how the government fights terrorism led to the Fort Hood shooting, two Republican Congressman today called for an immediate probe of the incident. Congress has been asked to wait until a military investigation is complete, but, Pete Hoekstra says, “It has to happen now. This is not something that we should take weeks or months to wait on.”
Hoekstra and fellow Michigan Rep. Mike Rogers hinted, without being specific, that the administration has hamstrung the intelligence community, Talking Points Memo notes. “We know that there are tools and methods that were in use just a few months ago are not in use today,” Rogers says. “That is a problem.”
