Glenn Beck refused to back away from his claim that President Obama is a "racist" on his radio show yesterday, telling detractors that "you are never going to shut me up." Beck mounted an angry defense of his comments on Fox News that the president has "a deep-seated hatred for white people or the white culture," and said that only conservatives are vilified for making accusations of racism, as the New York Daily News reports.
Beck laid into Obama for his treatment of the Henry Louis Gates Jr arrest: "He's making racial accusations, without all the facts, based on preconceived notions." Said the shock jock: Obama "sees the world through a prism of righting racial wrongs. His default position is to see white people as typically unfair, and typically afraid of those who are different." (More Glenn Beck stories.)
