As protesters clogged the streets of Tehran for a fifth consecutive day, the Iranian government accused the US of “intolerable” meddling, reports the Wall Street Journal. The government summoned the Swiss ambassador, who represents American interests in the country, to complain about “interventionist” statements made by US officials, notes the New York Times. No specifics were released, and the State Department denied the charges.

President Obama has said he is “deeply troubled” by post-election violence, though he’s held back from stronger criticism. In Tehran, meanwhile, throngs of protesters—estimates range from tens of thousands to the Guardian’s 500,000—again converged in a largely silent march. Challenger Mir Hossein Mousavi called for another rally tomorrow to mourn protesters who have been killed; the official count stands at seven. (More Iran stories.)
