Anti-Chemo Dad: Son, Wife Have Left US

The father of a Minnesota 13-year-old ordered to undergo cancer treatment says his son and wife have fled the US, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. “I have an opinion where they are, but I can’t say I know,” said Anthony Hauser, noting that wife Colleen’s disappearance was likely a “spur-of-the-moment” decision, and that he doesn’t think the pair is in Canada.

He said the family would accept low doses of chemotherapy for son Daniel alongside alternative medicine. “I know people around here who’ve had chemo twice and they’re great. And I'm not saying alternative medicine is going to cure you every time.” But he said there is no “reasoning” behind the stance of his son’s doctors. (More cancer stories.)
