Utilities, energy firms and financials give back gains

Stocks fell today as some took profits after yesterday’s impressive rally, and utilities, energy firms and financials gave back some gains, the Wall Street Journal reports. Despite falling 115.57 to close at 7,660.29, the Dow has climbed in seven of the past 10 sessions, and remains around 20% higher than its bear-market low. The Nasdaq fell 37.78, to 1,517.99, and the S&P 500 lost 16.67 to settle at 806.25. (More Dow Jones stories.)
