Barack Obama pays as much attention to his wife’s wardrobe as the media does, Michelle Obama tells the New York Times in an interview on life in the Obama household. "He’s always asking: ‘Is that new? I haven’t seen that before,’ the first lady said. "It’s like, ‘Why don’t you mind your own business? Solve world hunger. Get out of my closet.’"

Michelle said she fights hard to stay in shape and to make sure her daughters stick to healthy diets—despite the attentions of their indulgent grandmother. ”She thinks I’m strict in terms of food,” Obama said, “but really everything I learned, I learned from her. It’s just now these are her grandchildren. She thinks Malia and Sasha should have dessert every day, three times a day." (More Barack Obama stories.)
