Obama to Face O'Reilly During McCain Speech
Reportedly, it was the partial thawing of relations between Barack Obama and Rupert Murdoch, who owns Fox News, that led to Obama's booking on The O'Reilly Factor.   (Getty Images (by Event) Individuals)

It seems the "tentative truce" between Barack Obama and media mogul Rupert Murdoch is beginning to bear fruit, Politico reports, with the Democratic candidate set to appear on Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor tomorrow before John McCain’s speech to the Republican National Convention. It will be Obama’s first visit with conservative star Bill O’Reilly.

The appearance will likely be a ratings bonanza for both Obama, who will get face time with a large conservative audience, and with Fox News, the New York Times adds. The appearance continues a thaw between the network and candidate, who was irked over its suggestions during primary season that he had been a Muslim while living in Indonesia.
