Donald Trump told an Iowa rally Thursday that he will "very, very, very probably" run again and that they could expect an announcement soon. Now, some outlets are getting specific about what "soon" means. Jonathan Swan of Axios reports by way of three sources that the former president's team is looking seriously at launching his campaign on Nov. 14, with a series of rallies to follow in the ensuing days. Both CNN and the New York Times then reported sources of their own also confirmed the 14th is a good possibility.

To be clear, all the reports are based on anonymous sources, and all emphasize that nothing is decided. Trump spokesperson Taylor Budowich said he would not comment "on the never-ending speculation and rumors." But the stories agree on the broad strokes behind the emerging strategy: Republicans seem poised for a strong night Tuesday in the midterm elections, and Trump aims to piggy-back on that momentum and likely take credit for it. But how the night actually plays out—and particularly how Trump-backed candidates fare—would be a factor in whatever decision Trump makes.

The Hill notes that Trump's daughter Tiffany gets married on Nov. 12, and the former president would be unlikely to announce a campaign before then. The site also quotes former Trump aide Kellyanne Conway as saying she expects him to enter the race soon. "I give him a ton of credit for not announcing this year, for not stepping in the way of midterm candidates," she said at a Christian Science Monitor forum on Thursday. "Obviously there’s a family wedding coming up on his property, and Election Day is late this year. But as he would say, wait and see." (More Donald Trump stories.)
