Tom Brady is having a lousy year off the playing field with his personal life. But if you think he might find solace on the playing field, think again. Brady lost his third straight game Thursday night, which has not happened since 2002, reports USA Today. Worse, he looked like a "shell of himself" as his struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Baltimore Ravens 27-22, writes Jarrett Bell. So far, it's been a "nightmare season" for Brady, who came out of retirement to play, writes Ben Church at CNN.

Lots of people are suggesting Brady's age of 45 is finally catching up to him, but Andrew Beaton at the Wall Street Journal suggests something else is going on. When Brady is surrounded by a great offensive line—as he was when arrived in Tampa and led the team to a Super Bowl win—he is amazing. But the team's makeup has changed, and Brady looks all too human when his protectors are more on the mediocre side. As for his personal travails with wife Gisele Bundchen, TMZ expects divorce papers to be filed Friday. (More Tom Brady stories.)
