James Webb said yesterday that John McCain should “calm down” regarding the politicizing of his military service, prompting an angry response today. The Virginia senator and potential Obama running mate broached the topic unprompted in a TV appearance, the Hill reports. The ex-Navy Secretary called for McCain to stop “standing up and uttering your political views and implying that all the people in the military support them—because they don’t.” (More Barack Obama stories.)
