America will be getting two new senators as well as a new president and vice president on Wednesday. The campaigns of Democratic senators-elect Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff say they will be sworn in at 4:30pm Eastern by Kamala Harris in her capacity as vice president, the Hill reports. Warnock and Ossoff won runoff elections in Georgia earlier this month, handing Democrats control of the Senate. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger certified the victories Tuesday. The official results show Warnock beating Sen. Kelly Loeffler by around 2%, and Ossoff beating Sen. David Perdue by around 1.2%, the AP reports. Under a state law, candidates can't request a recount if the margin is larger than 0.5%. (More Senate stories.)
