The UK wants it made abundantly clear that The Crown is not, in fact, a historical documentary about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The nation's culture secretary is urging Netflix to slap an official notice on the series warning viewers that the show is fiction, and he says he's sending the streaming service a letter to that effect. BuzzFeed notes viewers responded with amusement, sarcastically feigning shock that the television drama is not actually a 100% factual look at the royal family, and the Guardian reports that even historians rolled their eyes at the idea of such a warning. The series is currently in the middle of the controversial Charles-Diana-Camilla storyline. (More Netflix stories.)
