George Conway, husband of top White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, has been a regular critic of President Trump. But a new anti-Trump video put out by a super PAC co-founded by him seems to have rankled the president unlike any previous Conway jab. On Monday night, Trump wrote among a series of tweets, "I don’t know what Kellyanne did to her deranged loser of a husband, Moonface, but it must have been really bad." His tweets came in response to a video titled "Mourning in America," put out by the Lincoln Project super PAC, reports the Washington Post. The video is a scathing critique of the Trump administration's response to COVID-19, one that mirrors the famous Ronald Reagan ad "Morning in America," notes Ad Age.

"Today, more than 60,000 Americans have died from a deadly virus Donald Trump ignored," it begins, against a backdrop of dilapidated houses and other bleak images. It ends by flipping the language of the Reagan video: "Under the leadership of Donald Trump, our country is weaker and sicker and poorer. And now, Americans are asking, if we have another four years like this, will there even be an America?" Trump responded that Conway and others involved with the group (including former GOP strategist Steve Schmidt) are RINOs, Republicans in Name Only, as well as "LOSERS." He also called the Lincoln Project a "disgrace to Honest Abe." The Hill notes that the Trump campaign has its own ad out on the White House response, called "American Comeback."
