Stocks are closing lower on Wall Street as jitters about the economic fallout from the viral outbreak in China returned to the market, the AP reports. Major indexes started slightly higher Thursday then took a tumble in late morning trading before recovering some of their losses. The choppy trading came a day after the S&P 500 closed at its latest record high. The S&P 500 fell 12 points, or 0.4%, to 3,373. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 128 points, or 0.4%, to 29,219. The Nasdaq lost 66 points, or 0.7%, to 9,750. Bond prices rose. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note fell to 1.52%. (More stock market stories.)
