The Duke of Sussex is stepping back but not out of the picture, as evidenced by his return to royal duties on Thursday. Prince Harry was "all smiles" as he met with young rugby players during an official engagement at Buckingham Palace before hosting the draws for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup, per People. He also met with representatives of the 21 countries set to play in the men's, women's and wheelchair tournaments, which will be held simultaneously in 17 cities across England. As Harry explains in a video, the tournament will be the first major international sporting event to include a mental fitness charter "focusing on the mental fitness of players, coaches, fans, and communities hosting the matches."
It will involve workshops for 8,000 young players and their families who will learn "how they can look after their own mental fitness" and "support others to do the same," says Harry, who succeeded the Queen as patron of the Rugby Football League in 2016. The BBC reports Harry will remain in England to attend meetings next week. Meanwhile, in Canada, the Duchess of Sussex has been busy visiting charities. Vancouver's Justice for Girls, which supports teenage girls living in poverty, said Meghan discussed "climate justice for girls and the rights of indigenous peoples" during a Tuesday visit.
