Elon Musk's disastrous demo of Tesla's newest electric vehicle wasn't just a PR debacle—it hit his wallet big time. When the company's head designer threw a metal ball at the Cybertruck's window Thursday to show how durable it was, the window smashed; a second try smashed a second window. "It didn't go through, that's the plus side," Musk weakly joked, notes the Guardian. The minus side, per Forbes: Tesla's share price dropped 6% after Thursday's market close, decreasing Musk's net worth by $768 million in just one day, leaving him with just $23.6 billion.

"The shattering of the truck’s 'unbreakable' glass windows during the live demonstration was not a good start," a Deutsch Bank analyst says in the understatement of the year. An analyst from Baird doesn't think what happened was so dire. "While this was unfortunate and provided some good meme fodder, ultimately we do not think the broken window is particularly significant and should not overshadow the rest of the unveiling," he wrote in a research note. "Ultimately we view this as a funny footnote." (More Elon Musk stories.)
