The South Carolina man who founded Bikers for Trump to block protesters at Trump campaign rallies now plans a campaign of his own. Chris Cox says he plans to run against Charleston Democrat Joe Cunningham for a US House seat, the State reports. Cunningham defeated Katie Arrington in the 2018 election after she beat incumbent Mark Sanford in the GOP primary. In a Facebook post, Cox said he was "disappointed in the election of a liberal Democrat to represent me and my neighbors in Congress." He said he was "passing the torch" of Bikers for Trump, which provided an extra layer of security at Trump events, to his top lieutenant. Cox, who will be competing against at least four other Republicans in the primary, says his association with Trump will give him an advantage, the Post and Courier reports.
