Three people were killed and a child is missing after a motorized rubber boat capsized Thursday in the Rhine River between Germany and France, the AP reports. Deutsche Welle describes the victims as members of a group of German and Romanian tourists. The boat, which left the German bank of the river Thursday morning carrying two adults and two children, sank near the eastern French town of Gerstheim, police said. A 6-year-old girl and an adult who had been on the boat were killed, as was another adult who tried to save them, an official with the regional police authority said. The other adult passenger was hospitalized, and the other child passenger, a 4-year-old girl, is missing and had not been found as of five hours after the sinking, per DW. It's not clear what caused the boat to sink. (Another boat disaster Wednesday night killed seven on the Danube.)
