Tension may be increasing between Saudi Arabia's king and its crown prince, to such an extent that King Salman replaced his security team with loyalists while on a trip to Egypt last month, sources say. The king dismissed his Egyptian security personnel as well, the Guardian reports, after his advisers warned him there could be a move against him. The father and son have disagreed about policy issues including the war in Yemen in the past. But matters have worsened since the slaying of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which the CIA reportedly found was ordered by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The split between father and son could threaten the stability of the government, the Guardian reports. See its full story here. (Saudi Arabia recently appointed a female ambassador to the US.)
