New year, new you, new ... job? If you've been looking to switch things up employer-wise, January seems like a good month to start putting feelers out, and a good time overall: The Bureau of Labor Statistics' most recent jobs report notes the national unemployment rate has fallen to 3.7%, the lowest it's been in nearly 20 years. WalletHub notes, however, that finding the jobs means going where they exist—and the site helps to narrow down what US cities hold the best prospects. Here, the top 10 cities culled from 182 across the country, using each location's socioeconomics and overall job market (including unemployment rate, job security, and job satisfaction) as a gauge. Scottsdale comes out on top:

  1. Scottsdale, Ariz.
  2. Columbia, Md.
  3. Orlando, Fla. (No. 1 in the "Job Market" category)
  4. San Francisco
  5. Colorado Springs, Colo.
  6. Portland, Maine
  7. Plano, Texas
  8. Washington, DC
  9. Boston
  10. Chandler, Ariz.
