Like a boy who pulls the ponytails of the girl he secretly likes on the playground, the Boston Red Sox gave a shoutout of sorts to the New York Yankees after winning the World Series Sunday night. In the locker room after emerging victorious 5-1 in Game 5 against the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Sox blasted Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York," a jab after Yankee Aaron Judge played the same song when the Yankees won a playoff game against Boston earlier this month, WCVB reports.

One apparent Yankees fan seemed amused by the video, which circulated on Instagram: "Damn bruh they just won a ring why they so worried about us." Another notes, "I was ready to congratulate them but f--- that. See you 2019." The New York Daily News acknowledged the story but threw out some math for Boston to grapple with: "They shouldn’t forget that nine plus 18 equals 27"—a reference to the nine championship rings the Red Sox have won, contrasted with the 27 held by the Yankees. (Here's a Red Sox player being a little more charitable after one of their wins.)
