Missing man, headless man—they're the same person, officials say. San Francisco police said Wednesday that a headless, handless torso found in a fish tank in a missing man's house belonged to 65-year-old homeowner Brian Egg, People reports. Police have also arrested two men and say one of them used Egg's credit card to buy a BMW. Seems Egg's neighbors played a huge role, first notifying police he was missing, then on August 14 calling 911 about a crime-cleanup truck parked outside and two suspicious men entering the bartender's residence. Police arrived and arrested Robert McCaffrey, 52, at the house, and then Lance Silva, 39, at a hotel a few hours later.

McCaffrey was released, but Silva is being held after a car dealer said he resembled the BMW buyer—who used Egg's credit card and ID. "It was just a regular transaction to me," says the owner of Silmi Auto Sales, who describes the buyer as being in a great mood, per CBS News. "He told me about a home he just purchased in SF and how he was coming back up and wanted to buy a car, so I was like, 'Sure.'" Cops say Silva admits to driving a BMW but denies the illegal purchase, although he had Egg's credit card. Seems Silva also used Egg's credit card to hire the crime-scene cleanup crew. Police returned on August 15 and, using a cadaver dog, found Egg's decaying remains in a fish tank in a concealed portion of the house. (More murder stories.)
