Cops: Woman Fatally Shot Husband for Beating Cat
Mary Harrison.   (Dallas Police Department)

If cats could talk, one of them might be called as a witness in a Dallas murder trial. Mary Harrison, 47, was arrested early Saturday for allegedly shooting husband Dexter Harrison, 49, to death during an argument, the Dallas Morning News reports. She told detectives that she shot her husband because he had been beating the family cat. She was taken to the Dallas County Jail with bail set at $100,000. Neighbors tell CBS-Dallas/Fort Worth that the couple moved to the area with their two teenage sons a few months ago. They say the cat recently went missing, but it was returned after Mary Harrison put up signs. "A man got shot over a cat? It’s kind of crazy. It’s unbelievable," neighbor Carl Phillips says.
