President Trump's schedule has been steadily shrinking over his year in office, and it now includes a lot of "Executive Time," which is often code for watching TV and using Twitter in his residence, according to Jonathan Swan at Axios, who says he has seen copies of Trump's private schedule. Not counting "Executive Time" from 8am to 11am, Trump's real timetable begins with a security briefing at 11am, which tends to be followed by more "Executive Time" before lunch, Swan writes. He notes that George W. Bush usually got to the Oval Office by 6:45am, while Barack Obama generally started his day with a workout and got to the office by 9am or 10am, according to former aides. Swan says Trump is usually back in his residence by 6pm.

Trump often has a meeting or two during his time in the Oval Office, though a lot of his time is spent making phone calls and watching TV in the adjoining dining room, per Swan, whose sources say that Trump held breakfast meetings in the early days of the administration but soon began pushing for later starts. In response to the Axios story, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Trump's morning includes a mix of Oval Office time and time in his residence, though it always includes phone calls to world leaders and Cabinet members, among others, CNN reports. Trump is "one of the hardest workers I've ever seen and puts in long hours and long days nearly every day of the week all year long," she said. "It has been noted by reporters many times that they wish he would slow down because they sometimes have trouble keeping up with him." (More President Trump stories.)
