S&P 500 has best week since first week of the year

Stocks are closing at more record highs on Wall Street as technology and industrial companies and banks post gains, the AP reports. Apple added 1% Friday, while Boeing moved up 1.5%. The Dow Jones industrial average and Standard & Poor's 500 index closed at record highs. The S&P 500, the benchmark for many index funds, had it best week since the first week of the year. Business software maker Oracle slumped 7.7% after issuing a disappointing forecast for its cloud computing business. The S&P 500 index rose 4 points, or 0.2%, to 2,500. It rose 1.6% for the week. The Dow added 64 points, or 0.3%, to 22,268. The Nasdaq composite increased 19 points, or 0.3%, to 6,448. (More stock market stories.)
