More turmoil at Uber: Jeff Jones, the president the company hired from Target less than a year ago, has become the latest top exec to depart, the Wall Street Journal reports. Jones, a marketing expert who joined the company after Uber CEO Travis Kalanick said the company "needed a real infusion of talent on that front," had been tasked with improving Uber's image worldwide. Insiders tell Recode that Jones decided that dealing with the company's multiple recent scandals was not what he signed up for. In a statement Jones confirmed the departure and said "the beliefs and approach to leadership that have guided my career are inconsistent with what I saw and experienced at Uber."

Jones' future at Uber was put into question earlier this month when Kalanick announced that the company was seeking a new chief operating officer, a role which would have included some of Jones' responsibilities, reports Reuters. "We want to thank Jeff for his six months at the company and wish him all the best," Uber said in a statement. Last month, a top engineering exec left Uber over sexual harassment allegations from his time at Google. Uber has been dealing with a sexual harassment scandal of its own, along with a lawsuit from Google's self-driving car unit and the exposure of its "Greyball" tool for avoiding law enforcement in cities where it was banned. (Uber might be coming to upstate New York.)
