"In many ways, Florida is my second home. In many ways, its my first home," Donald Trump told a rally in Orlando Friday night, thanking state officials as well as voters for his victory and boasting about his support from groups including Hispanic voters, African Americans, and Hindus, the Orlando Sentinel reports. "The patriots in this audience tonight stood up to the global special interests and delivered a historic win for the American worker," said Trump, who won the state with 49% of the vote to 48% for Hillary Clinton, USA Today reports.
Trump, who recapped his election victory at length and repeated promises including "safe zones" in Syria, told his supporters they had mellowed out since the campaign, CNN reports. "You people were vicious, violent, screaming, 'Where's the wall? We want the wall!' Screaming, 'Prison! Prison! Lock her up!'" he said. "But now, you're mellow and you're cool and you're not nearly as vicious or violent, right? Because we won, right?" The Chicago Tribune reports that when Clinton's name was mentioned by introductory speakers at the rally, there were chants of "Lock her up!" and at least one person shouted"Waterboard her!" Trump, who also appeared at GOP fundraisers in Florida Friday, will bring his "Thank You" tour to Alabama Saturday. (More Donald Trump stories.)
