Paul Bako hit an infield single with one out in the ninth inning to lift the Cincinnati Reds to a 4-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies today. Ryan Howard, who has hit a combined 105 homers over the previous two seasons, gave the Phillies a 3-2 lead with his first homer of the season in the eighth inning off Kent Mercker.

Corey Patterson tied it with home run into the Reds bullpen in left-center field with two outs in the eighth. Chad Durbin (0-1) walked two batters to start the ninth and two batters later, Bako hit a twisting bouncer that shortstop Jimmy Rollins backhanded, but couldn't get out of his glove in time to throw out Ryan Freel at home.
