Mike Jacobs homered off reliever Franquelis Osoria leading off the ninth to give the Florida Marlins a 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night. Jacobs went 3-for-5 and scored three runs. Josh Willingham homered and Hanley Ramirez had three hits for Florida. Kevin Gregg (1-0) pitched one scoreless inning for the win.
The Marlins have won two of their first four games, and both of the wins have come on walk-off homers. Pittsburgh's Matt Morris allowed four runs--three earned--and eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts in five innings. Florida's Scott Olsen gave up four runs and seven hits in six innings.
