An instructor in Ontario was supposed to be giving a driving test to a 73-year-old woman last Thursday, CBC reports. But the woman who showed up that day looked quite a bit younger. The woman was wearing glasses, a wig, and "clothing suited to an older person." The instructor informed his supervisor, who called police. Police discovered the woman was the 39-year-old daughter of the woman who was supposed to be taking the test. She allegedly told police her mom was too nervous to take the test.

"So she was trying to do her mother a favor," CBC quotes an officer as saying. "This was ... an out of character thing that she had done just because she wanted to help her mother out." While police appreciated that she just wanted to do a nice thing for her mom, they still had to arrest her. “We want people to be proficient and capable to drive a motor vehicle," the officer says. "Certainly if someone has difficulty doing that, it presents a danger to the public at large." The woman was charged with impersonating an adult and has a court date in July.
