Four months after announcing that he had been diagnosed with cancer at the age of 90, former President Jimmy Carter says that cancer is no more, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution, in an announcement that he made while teaching Sunday school in his hometown. " He said he got a scan this week and the cancer was gone," said a parishioner from Maranatha Baptist Church, where Carter was speaking. "The church, everybody here, just erupted in applause." Carter's family confirmed the news. "See?" joked grandson James Carter. "I knew he wasn't really human." Doctors found four spots of cancer on Carter's brain in August, and he had about 10% of his liver removed due to another lesion. He had been said to be responding well to treatment.
