As Todd Bachman prepared to walk his daughter Brittany down the aisle at her Ohio wedding Saturday, he stopped—and what he did is getting a lot of attention. He hopped out of the golf cart he was driving (with Brittany in the back), grabbed the hand of Brittany's stepfather, Todd Cendrosky, and pulled him along so that both men could walk her down the aisle together, the Chronicle-Telegram reports. The wedding photographer, Delia D. Blackburn, posted pictures of the two men Sunday on Facebook that have now been shared more than 500,000 times. In an earlier post, she wrote about the moment: "I spoke to the dad and applauded his actions since I am a stepparent also. His response was, 'He has helped me raise my daughter and he should be walking with us.'"

Brittany, 21, had called her dad two weeks before her wedding to tell him she was stressed about her walk down the aisle—her stepdad has been in her life since age 11, but he and her father didn't have an easy relationship, she tells the Chronicle-Telegram. "I told her I already had something planned," Bachman recalls. "She was so torn, and the last thing I wanted was for her to be torn." Adds Cendrosky, "I always wanted to (walk a daughter) down the aisle, and when I married my beautiful wife, Candy, she gave me three daughters. I don’t have ‘stepdaughters' … I have daughters, and when Todd grabbed my hand … that was the best day of my life, and I wouldn’t change that day for the world. We have become family, and the children’s needs need to come first." (More uplifting news stories.)
