Mike Modano had two assists and Brad Richards paired one with a goal to help the Stars avenge a hard Saturday loss to the Avalanche with a 3-0 domination last night. Marty Turco made 19 saves to register his 33rd career shutout, the Dallas Morning News reports. On other NHL ice:

  • Anaheim had eight power plays against an exhausted Montreal line, but none of the Ducks' goals came on an advantage—the last was even shorthanded—in their 3-1 victory over the Canadiens.
  • Chicago and Edmonton each racked up one goal in the first, and two each in the second and third periods, needing overtime to decide a 6-5 Blackhawks victory.
