Boston dominated on the power play late in the third period today, lifting the Bruins over the Capitals, 2-1. With just over five minutes left in the game and a two-man advantage, the Bruins' Zdeno Chara tied the game at one. Less than three minutes later, Marco Sturm provided the game winner, after successive Cap penalties handed them yet another 5-on-3 opportunity, reports the AP.
It was a rough game right from the beginning, as Boston looked for some retribution following Monday’s embarrassing 10-2 loss to the Capitals. In the first 10 seconds two fights broke out, followed by a number of penalties throughout the contest. Washington’s Brooks Laich scored the lone goal for the Caps.
