Drake moved one step closer to its first NCAA tournament berth since 1971 by easily defeating Indiana State, 68-46, in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The top-seeded Bulldogs (26-4) held the Sycamores, who won a play-in game over Wichita State Thursday, to 26% shooting, reports AP. Conference player of the year Adam Emmenecker had 13 points, 10 rebounds.

The 10 boards were a career high for the Drake leader. "It was good to contribute that way for a change," he said. Teammate Leonard Houston had 16 points, including three second-half three-pointers; overall Drake hit 9-of-23 from long distance. Gabe Moore led ISU with 12. Next up for the No. 21 Bulldogs will be Creighton in the 'Arch Madness' semifinals Saturday. (More NCAA basketball stories.)
