Olivia Jordan of Oklahoma was crowned Miss USA last night, beating out 50 other contestants and overcoming weeks of controversy generated by pageant co-owner Donald Trump to win the 64th annual pageant. The 26-year-old winner was followed by first runner-up Ylianna Guerra, 22, of Texas, and second runner-up Anea Garcia, 20, of Rhode Island. After Trump's comments on Mexican immigrants caused NBC and Univision to dump the event, it was picked up by satellite and cable channel Reelz, which assured people that Trump would not benefit financially.

Celebrities lined up to perform, judge, and host dropped out just as the pageant was kicking into high gear in Baton Rouge, La., but pageant organizers rushed to fill the gap so the show could go on; former Miss USA and Miss Universe winners were recruited as judges. Trump, who had insisted he would attend, wasn't at the pageant. He tweeted that he would miss it because he was campaigning in Phoenix, although CNN reports that he had no official events scheduled yesterday and, according to flight tracking data, his plane left Phoenix for New York on Saturday night. (During a speech in Phoenix, Trump said he would charge Mexico "$25,000 per illegal immigrant.")
