Tigers Bounce Back, Stop Tulsa

The University of Memphis righted the ship last night, beating Tulsa, 82-67. The loss snaps a five-game hot streak for Tulsa, and gives the Tigers a much needed win following the ending of their previously perfect season in a close loss to Tennessee on Saturday. The victory earns Memphis a share of the Conference USA championship, the Commercial Appeal reports.

With a win Saturday against Southern Mississippi, Memphis takes the conference outright. Coming of a loss, the No.2 Tigers proved they are still more than capable of dominating an opponent, racking up a 43-19 lead at the half. Only a late Tulsa rally kept the final score respectable. The Tigers shot 48.4 percent from the field, with five players netting double digit performances, led by Willie Kemp's 14. (More NCAA basketball stories.)
