It's not on par with California's stolen walnuts or Canada's stolen syrup, but Washington state now has a food caper of its own: stolen lamb chops. As KREM2 reports, a sheriff's deputy stopped two men walking down a street in Spokane Valley with heavy-looking garbage bags slung over their shoulders. Turns out, they were loaded down with frozen lamb chops, and the men said a woman who was moving gave them away.

The deputy checked, and the woman at the specified address denied any such thing. But the resident at the address where the men's footprints actually came from checked the freezer—and discovered that lamb chops were missing, reports AP. Travis Noble, 35, and Thomas McCaslin, 27, were jailed on burglary and theft charges. (More weird crimes stories.)
