A girl's Christmas card fairytale and one amazing marriage proposal are among the week's uplifting stories:

  • Dying Girl Flooded With Christmas Cards: If doctors are correct that 6-year-old Addie Fausett of Utah won't live to see another Christmas, her family has arranged to make her last one memorable. Her post office would agree, given that she's getting more than 1,000 Christmas cards a day.
  • Man Proposes With World's Biggest GPS Drawing: Yasushi Takahashi traveled all over Japan for six months and covered more than 4,450 miles. Thanks to his GPS tracker, he ended up with an astonishing marriage proposal.

  • Neglected, Dying Dog Gets Epic Send-Off: When a stray dog collapsed near death in their Alabama neighborhood, a mother and daughter made sure that Butch's final days were fit for a king, or at least a Boston terrier. He even got a final Thanksgiving.
  • Boy Survives After Body Temp Plunges to 55 Degrees: Things looked bleak after a 2-year-old boy in Poland wandered from home in 19-degree temperatures last week and was found face-down hours later with only socks and a pajama top. His body temperature was just 55 degrees—and yet he's out of an induced coma with his doctor throwing around the word "miracle." Dad has a theory on why Adas walked from the home at night.
  • Final Resting Place for Man's Ashes: 100 Countries: Over the past year, CJ Twomey has been scuba diving in the waters off the Dominican Republic, flown over Turkey in a hot-air balloon, and ascended Peru's Machu Picchu. He's visited more than 100 countries, thanks to the kindness of hundreds of strangers who are helping CJ—who died in 2010 at the age of 20—"see" the world.
