For two periods, nothing much happened between the Ducks and Blues last night, besides hooking penalties and fights. Then each team scored a quick goal to start out the third period, and overtime saw Samuel Pahlsson save the Ducks' recent surge in just 32 seconds. The 2-1 victory keeps Anaheim in striking distance of division-leading Dallas, the Los Angeles Times reports.

St. Louis's Ryan Johnson drew first blood with a goal on Jean-Sebastien Giguere, and Teemu Selanne soon followed with a score of his own. The Ducks have gone 8-1 since Selanne re-donned his uniform. "It's all about wins right now," says Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle. "Not about how but how many." (More NHL stories.)
