Shea Weber scored a power-play goal 40 seconds into overtime last night as the Nashville Predators beat the St. Louis Blues 2-1, reports the Associated Press. The Predators have allowed four first-period goals in their last two games, but have still outscored opponents 26-11 in the past 22 games. Scott Nichol had the other  Nashville goal. In other NHL action:  

  • Ed Jovanovski had a goal and two assists and Radim Vrbata scored the winner in the third period as the Phoenix Coyotes edged the Los Angeles Kings, 4-3.
  • Markus Naslund scored the first goal and assisted on the winner in the third period to lift the Vancouver Canucks past the Edmonton Oilers, 4-2.
