Old school for prison smugglers is to chuck a football stuffed with drugs and contraband over the wall. New school? Drones, of course. Authorities in South Carolina say two men tried to fly one onto the premises of the Lee Correctional Institution in Bishopville, reports AP. Alas, it didn't quite make it, and guards found the drone in bushes outside the prison walls, filled with cell phones, tobacco, and marijuana. Police charged 28-year-old Brenton Lee Doyle with trying to provide inmates with contraband and are hunting for an accomplice. (Police in New York say they caught a drone operator peering into patients' rooms at a medical facility.)
