When do you know you’ve partied a bit too hard? When you break the World Cup. Thankfully, it’s only a replica, and perhaps the German team’s mishap is why FIFA doesn’t give out the real thing, which ESPN FC reports is worth about $13.5 million. It seems that following their 1-0 win over Argentina last week—Germany’s fourth in history—the team was welcomed by 400,000 fans in Berlin. And somehow, during the revelry, "a small piece of our World Cup trophy was chipped off," German Football Association President Wolfgang Niersbach tells Die Welt. "But do not worry! We have specialists on the case who can fix it." Also, "We have investigated who it was that damaged the trophy." Alas: The investigation was inconclusive. (More World Cup stories.)
