Guns in waistbands appear to be a recurring theme in the life of Michael Smith of Maine. Just a few months after the realistic tattoo of a holstered gun on his waist caused state troopers to descend upon his house, the 41-year-old has been arrested with a real gun tucked into his waistband. The Norridgewock man was taken into custody after he turned up at a deputy's house drunk, armed, and crying, according to the Morning Sentinel. Smith told police he had a fight with his ex-girlfriend and had stolen prescription narcotics from her, authorities said.

Smith was charged with stealing drugs and his gun was confiscated. Police say he was carrying a .40-caliber Glock but he won't face gun charges because Maine is an open-carry state and his weapon was visible, the AP reports. He made headlines in March when tree-service workers he shouted at when shirtless mistook his tattoo for the real thing. When officers arrived and asked if he had any weapons, Smith told them, "Yeah, I got this gun on me all the time. It's tattooed on." (More tattoos stories.)
