Doctors in Minneapolis are calling 15-month-old Musa Dayib the "miracle baby," reports the Star Tribune, and for good reason: The infant fell from his family's 11th-story balcony and survived. In fact, he was still conscious when his panicked father, Guled Ahmed, ran down the stairs to tend to his son after the accident. Musa has two broken arms, a fractured back, and bruised lungs—but no brain damage, reports KARE11. "Little (kids) are more flexible and don't break as easily as we do and he also fell in a very small patch of mulch," says one of his doctors. "It's definitely a miracle."

The best guess is that Musa managed to slip through the balcony's railings, which are about 5 and a half inches apart. He had been in the living room playing with his father and 3-year-old sister when his father went to the kitchen. The little girl came running in to tell him Musa had fallen less than a minute later. The family says the lock on the patio doors leading to the balcony was broken. (Click to read about an 8-year-old girl who helped deliver her baby brother into the world.)
